Bio Nano Imaging (BNI)
Coordinator : Csilla Gergely
The « BioNanoImaging theme » relies on two teams BioNanoNMRI and BioPhotonics working on the physics and development of innovative instrumentation, methodologies, modelization and applications of multimodal imaging and spectroscopy in life sciences.
Our activities are developed in close collaboration with numerous groups from the departments of Electronics, Biology-Health, Agronomy and Chemistry of the University of Montpellier, CNRS, CEA, INSERM, CIRAD, INRA, IRD, CHU.
We conduct multidisciplinary studies employing a multimodal approach to support with quantitative, physical measurements and new knowledge the biological questions with applications in agronomy, biology and health.
Over the last years, the two teams have been focusing their efforts to install and develop various imaging modalities on the campus of Montpellier with a massive financial support from the « Contrat de Plan Etat Région 2015-2020 Occitanie ». In this context, we are now leading the « BioNanoImaging Foundry : BNIF », a state of art user facility of the University of Montpellier dedicated to the investigations of animals, plants and human tissues.
