The Statistical Physics team uses numerical and analytical tools to model the macroscopic properties of systems involving a large number of elementary constituents.

These systems cover a wide range, from glasses to active matter and 2D heterostructures.

We use a wide range of numerical (DFT, molecular dynamics, Monte Carlo simulations, etc.) and analytical (statistical mechanics, hydrodynamics, stochastic processes, etc.) techniques to model a wide variety of systems (supercooled liquids, glasses, gels, polymers, nanostructures, biological systems), whether in thermodynamic equilibrium (phase diagrams, structural and dynamic studies), or far from equilibrium (aging, rheology, flows).

We are open to collaborations on interdisciplinary topics (such as, currently, biological systems, population dynamics and wind-wave interaction).

The Statistical Physics team currently comprises four professors and three CNRS researchers.
